Chord Property
Definition

The perpendicular from the centre of a circle to a chord bisects the chord.

Example

In the figure below, the line through the centre of the circle and the chord of the circle are perpendicular. As a result, the chord is bisected by the line.

Inscribed Quadrilateral Angle Example

The property actually consists of three statements about a chord of a circle, the centre of the circle, and a line.

If any two of the statements are true, the remaining statement is true.

(If any one of the statements is false, one or both of the remaining statements is/are false.)

Pick one of the following statements that will be made to be true, then view what happens when one of the other statements is true or false.
