Understanding Quality of Life

What are the feelings that determine a quality of life and the factors that contribute to these feelings?

Synopsis

A number of the specific outcomes found under:

General Outcome 3.1, "Communities in the World," can be addressed by helping students understand the kinds of feelings and experiences that characterize a quality of life (e.g., feeling loved, safe, secure) and the factors (e.g., friendship, housing, protection from physical harm) that contribute to these feelings. The discussion might focus initially on individual lives portrayed in stories and then move to consider the lives generally of people in four selected communities–one in each of Tunisia, Peru, India and Ukraine.
