What are the essential attributes of an effective democracy?

Synopsis

Many of the specific outcomes supporting General Outcome 6.1—"Students will demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the dynamic relationship between governments and citizens as they engage in the democratic process"—may be addressed by inviting students to critically assess the essential attributes of an effective democracy.
