| Comics and Computer-based Reading Kathy Sanford, at the University of Victoria, and Heather Blair, at the University of Alberta, have carried out extensive study of the multiple literacies of boys in the middle years. Their work, which has been published in journals and presented at conferences, highlights the multiple and diverse literacy skills boys will often develop outside of the school while struggling with the literacy expected of them in school.
