The Past Is Present in Our Community

How is our community’s past with us today?

Synopsis

Many of the specific outcomes related to:

General Outcome 1.2, "Moving Forward with the Past: My Family, My History and My Community," can be addressed by comparing characteristics of their community’s past with those of the present. Historical images, picture books and the community itself are rich resources to help students get a feel for life 50 or more years ago and to recognize the links between the past and present.
