New SketchUp for Schools

Licences for SketchUp Pro have historically been provided to Alberta schools through grant funding. The licences for schools will be discontinued at the beginning of July 2022, and the licences for home use expired on January 1, 2022.

If your school would still like to use SketchUp, Trimble is now offering a K–12 product called SketchUp for Schools that is available for free to schools around the world, without the need for software licensing.

Online Reference Centre

Alberta Education is reviewing its approach to providing educational resources as part of the Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K–12) curriculum renewal process. We are determining the most effective resources to support the current and future (i.e., draft) curriculum and the process for selecting and providing those resources.

The Online Reference Centre (ORC) was provided through a grant with The Alberta Library, which ended June 2021. When the grant ended, the ORC was removed due to licensing agreements.

LearnAlberta.ca contains a variety of digital resources to support Alberta’s K–12 curriculum. It also provides information for authorized resources aligned to curriculum. If you are unable to locate a resource, please contact us at LearnAlberta.Feedback@gov.ab.ca.

Recent updates to Java have introduced known issues to the Java applets on the LearnAlberta.ca website. We are currently looking at converting to a more stable format, which will take some time. Updates regarding the conversion will be made available here.

Thank you for your patience with this.
