Online Reference Centre

Alberta Education is reviewing its approach to providing educational resources as part of the Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K–12) curriculum renewal process. We are determining the most effective resources to support the current and future (i.e., draft) curriculum and the process for selecting and providing those resources.

The Online Reference Centre (ORC) was provided through a grant with The Alberta Library, which ended June 2021. When the grant ended, the ORC was removed due to licensing agreements.

LearnAlberta.ca contains a variety of digital resources to support Alberta’s K–12 curriculum. It also provides information for authorized resources aligned to curriculum. If you are unable to locate a resource, please contact us at LearnAlberta.Feedback@gov.ab.ca.

*UPDATE – FLASH January 2021

The LearnAlberta team is aware of some audio and performance issues with some of our Flash-based resources and are working hard to resolve them. If you do experience any technical problems or find any other issues with our resources, please contact us at LearnAlberta.Feedback@gov.ab.ca. All feedback is appreciated and will help us to best support our Education Partners.

FLASH January 2021

In order to support our teachers, students, parents and other education partners, most Flash-based resources on LearnAlberta.ca and new.LearnAlberta.ca will still run on most modern browsers after the end of Flash on December 31, 2020.

Reminder: Access to Locked Student Resources

If you are trying to access a locked student resource, please contact your school to obtain the required jurisdictional username and password. Due to licensing agreements, there are a number of resources that require a username and password.

Recent updates to Java have introduced known issues to the Java applets on the LearnAlberta.ca website. We are currently looking at converting to a more stable format, which will take some time. Updates regarding the conversion will be made available here.

Thank you for your patience with this.
